.BRD Boardview Files

.BRD is the most widely used boardview extension, but several different formats share it: the TestLink/BoardViewer boardview format, Apple-specific variants and Cadence Allegro design files, which are not boardviews at all. OpenBoardView opens the common boardview variants; FlexBV covers more of them.

If a .BRD file refuses to open in a boardview program, it may be a full PCB design file that needs the original design software.
