Information we collect
Information you send us
If you write to us by email, we receive the information you include: usually your name, email address and the content of your message. We use it only to reply and to deal with your request.
Information collected automatically
When you visit any page, the web server that hosts the site automatically logs technical data sent by your browser: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and operating system. These logs are used to keep the site running, investigate errors and protect it against abuse. They are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify individual visitors.
Cookies and similar technologies
ExcitingSpas.com itself does not use cookies to track you. The site saves your colour theme choice (light or dark) in your browser's local storage; this value never leaves your device. Third parties, mainly Google, set cookies for advertising and analytics. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
Advertising and the DoubleClick cookie
We use Google AdSense to show ads. In connection with these ads:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Other third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and use cookies for the same purposes.
How to opt out of personalised advertising:
- Visit Google's Ads Settings to turn off personalised ads from Google.
- Visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of personalised advertising from participating third-party vendors.
- In the EU, you can also use Your Online Choices.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your browsing history. To learn how Google uses data from sites that show its ads, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform asks whether Google and its partners may use cookies and process personal data for personalised ads. You can accept, refuse or choose by purpose and by vendor. If you refuse, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention. You can change your choice at any time through the privacy settings link shown at the bottom of the page.
Analytics
We use StatCounter to count visits and see which pages are useful. StatCounter records data such as the pages viewed, the referring page, the browser and device type, screen size and an approximate location derived from your IP address, and it may set a cookie to recognise returning visitors. We look at this data only in aggregated form. StatCounter's own handling of data is described in the StatCounter privacy policy.
Links to other websites
Download buttons open public posts on Telegram, and guides may link to other websites. Those services have their own privacy policies, which we do not control. When you open a Telegram link, Telegram processes your visit under its own terms.
Legal bases (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent for advertising cookies and personalised ads, and for analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests for server logs used for security and to keep the site working, and for replying to messages you send us.
- Legal obligation where we must keep or disclose information by law.
How long we keep information
- Messages you send us: as long as needed to deal with your request, and normally no longer than two years.
- Server logs: a limited period set by the hosting provider, used for security and troubleshooting.
- Advertising cookies: as set by Google and its partners; see the Cookie Policy.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. Information may be processed by:
- our hosting provider, which stores and serves the website;
- Google and its advertising partners, through cookies, as described above;
- public authorities, if we are required to by law.
Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, they use safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights under GDPR
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because we hold very little personal data, most requests concern messages you sent us. For data collected through advertising cookies, the quickest way is to change your choices in the consent settings or in Google's Ads Settings. To exercise any right, contact us at our email address. We will reply within one month.
Your rights under the CCPA (California residents)
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to:
- know what categories of personal information are collected, used and shared, and request a copy;
- request deletion of your personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, including for cross-context behavioural advertising;
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
In the last 12 months the site has collected these categories: identifiers (such as IP address and cookie identifiers) and internet activity (pages viewed, interactions with ads). Advertising partners may use them to make inferences for ad personalisation. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
Advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under California law. To opt out, use Google's Ads Settings and www.aboutads.info, or contact us at our email address. Where a US state privacy message is shown on the site, you can also opt out there. We do not sell personal information for money.
Children
The site is intended for people who repair electronics and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and holds no user accounts or passwords. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the little information we hold.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
