About

ExcitingSpas.com is a free index of laptop and motherboard service files — schematics, boardview files and BIOS dumps — organised by the board they belong to, plus practical guides on board-level repair.

Who runs the site

The site is run by Daniel Kovach, laptop motherboard repair technician.

Most of my working day is spent with a laptop board under the microscope, a bench power supply and a multimeter: chasing a missing power rail, a shorted capacitor or a charging circuit that gave up after a spilled coffee. Nearly every one of those repairs starts with the right schematic and boardview, which is why this catalog exists.

Why this catalog exists

Board-level repair without a schematic and a boardview is slow guesswork. The files exist, but they are scattered across Telegram channels and forums under names like LA_D312P_REV_1_0_WORKING_BIOS_100%.rar, posted again and again in different places. Finding the right file for a specific board revision can take longer than the repair itself.

ExcitingSpas.com does that search once, for everyone: every file is tied to a board code, a laptop model and a revision, and every board gets one page with all of its files in one place.

How the catalog is built

  1. Collecting. A script reads public posts from 9 Telegram channels that share repair files. Only the file name, size, date, post text and the link to the post are stored. The files themselves stay on Telegram.
  2. Cleaning names. Copy suffixes such as "(1)", watermarks, underscores and double extensions are removed so that the same file posted twice looks the same.
  3. Reading the name. Rules recognise the brand, the laptop model, the board code (Compal LA-xxxxP, LCFC NM-xxxx, Quanta DAxxxxMBxxx, Inventec 6050Axxxxxxx, Apple 820-xxxxx, Samsung BA41-xxxxx and others) and the revision. When the name has no brand, the brand is taken from other files that share the same board code.
  4. Removing duplicates. Files with the same cleaned name and the same size are merged into one entry that lists every channel where it was posted.
  5. Grouping. All files with the same board code become one board page. Files without a code are grouped by laptop model.
  6. Filtering. Phone schematics, LCD panel dumps, graphics card files, component datasheets and paid or advertising posts are left out.

The result today: 12,088 boards from 44 brands and board makers, built from 35,103 unique files. File names are written by many different people, so some boards will be grouped imperfectly. If you spot a mistake, tell us and it will be fixed.

What we do not do

  • We do not host, upload or sell files. Each download button opens the original public Telegram post.
  • We do not check whether a file is complete or works on your board. A BIOS dump labelled "working" is the uploader's claim, not ours.
  • We do not accept payment for listing files or for placing links.

About the domain name

For many years excitingspas.com belonged to an unrelated spa and wellness directory. That site has closed and none of its content is kept here. The domain now hosts this repair catalog; old links to the spa pages lead to the home page.

How the guides are written

The guides are written by Daniel Kovach from bench experience. They explain methods — what to measure, in what order, and why — rather than promising numbers that only apply to one board. Where a voltage, a part number or a sequence depends on the board, the guide says so and points you to the schematic for your model. Guides are updated when something turns out to be wrong or incomplete; the "Updated" date at the top of each guide shows the last revision.

Corrections and removal requests

If a link is broken, a file is listed under the wrong board, or you own the rights to a file and want it removed from the index, use the contact page or the DMCA procedure. Requests are usually handled within a few working days.

Advertising

The site is free to use and is paid for by advertising. Ads are shown only on catalog and guide pages, never inside the legal pages, and advertisers have no say over what is written in the guides. See the Privacy Policy for how ads use cookies.
