About me

I'm Daniel. My bench is a microscope, a hot-air station, a bench power supply that shows current draw, and a multimeter that never leaves diode mode for long. The boards that land there are the usual suspects: laptops that are dead, that charge but will not start, that start but show nothing, or that stopped working after a spill.

I started this catalog for a simple reason: half of every repair was searching. The schematic for a board sat in one Telegram channel, the boardview in another and the BIOS dump in a third, under names like LA_D312P_REV_1_0_OK_100%.rar. Now that search is done once, for everyone, and every board has one page with all of its files.

The guides come from the same place. They are the explanations I give when someone asks why a laptop will not turn on: start at the adapter, follow the power sequence, measure before you replace anything. I try to write what actually helps at the bench, and to say clearly when a voltage or a part depends on the board in front of you.

When I'm not soldering, I'm usually improving the rules that sort the catalog or answering messages about a file that ended up under the wrong board. If you spot a mistake, tell me: that is how the catalog gets better.
